IHE General Information
IHE-UK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to interoperability in health information technology, IHE-UK gathers a broad range of stakeholders - these include vendors, users, specifiers, regulatory authorities, procurers and interoperability experts - to advance the shared exchange of patient information. It is affiliated to IHE-Europe, and to IHE International,
IHE-Europe is best known for the annual testing marathon the IHE-Europe Connectathon® that in 2020 takes place in Brussels, full details of the events in Connectathon® Week are available at https://connectathon.ihe-europe.net. They are updated regularly and you are urged to also bookmark the page which will include information about the events, including registration information.
IHE-Europe also produces a fortnightly publication called News Pulse that is available by subscribing, details can be found on the IHE-Europe website, together with the back issues of the publication.
IHE UK
IHE-UK exhibits at appropriate Health related exhibitions in the UK and has done so for many years. It also organises interoperability meetings during the year the next one is planned for 16th October at the new BCS offices, 25, Copthall Avenue, London EC2 7PB. Invitation
IHE-UK is proud to present a One Day Scientific Meeting looking at “How IHE Profiles are being used in practice in UK Healthcare”. Following a successful series of interoperability events over many years it is applicable to all who have an interest in healthcare IT solutions and how they interoperate in practice in today’s healthcare environment. It is aimed at those who are starting out on the interoperability journey and those who have been on it for some time. Whether you are a vendor or a user, individual or a company, involved in procurement or implementation this event will get you up to speed. You will meet like-minded people, interoperability experts and hear from sites around the UK who have implemented / are implementing programmes using standards based on IHE Profiles.
Previous Events
- Following a successful Webinar in July 2013 and two one-day meetings on Interoperability in February and April 2014 IHE-UK organised a one-day meeting that showcased Interoperability in Live Action in hospitals and clinics across UK and encouraging User Supporting User, so interoperability working together. The programme comprised speakers from Industry, Users and Regulatory Authorities and came at a time when opportunities for interoperability funding were focused in the market place, thanks to a number of NHS Funding initiatives.
- IHE supports many Domains and many Profiles, meetings are usually designed to show a number of them in operation and together with the EHI Live congress and exhibition in November can provide a platform for demonstrable examples that are in operation today.
